Interesting Grave Relocation Project at Argent Siding

Home  /  News  /  Current Page

G&A Heritage was contracted to facilitate the relocation of two graves at the Argent railway siding close to Delmas in the Mpumalanga Province. These looked like historic, western graves however, the interesting fact was that there were only two headstones in what appeared to be a larger fenced off area or cemetery. For some reason only two people were buried here or more likely the headstones of the other graves have been removed for some reason. G&A Heritage recently received the grave relocation permit from the South African Heritage Resources Agency for the relocation of a NHRA 25 of 1999, Section 36 grave. As part of the appointment G&A Heritage investigators will do test excavations to determine if any other graves are located within this fences off area and if they need to be exhumed and relocated.
